Soundwaves is in full swing! The first part of the week was dedicated to writing music. The bands spent time improvising, bouncing ideas off each other and creating their songs! The most interesting part was the mix of instruments and genres. Musicians from jazz, trad, classical and rock backgrounds have fused together and the result is electrifying! One group, Snasta, mixes vocals, fiddle, uilean pipes, saxophone and piano, which sounds beautiful.

For a lot of the teens it was the first time they had written a song. As someone who has heard the music already – they need to keep writing!! We’re busy recording the songs now, so keep tuned to hear them next week
