Northern Ireland School Showcase
June 2012 saw the first Musical Futures Showcase event for the schools involved in the Musical Futures Pilot. Presented by Stephen McCauley of BBC Radio Ulster and featuring David Price OBE, Paul Shevlin (winner of the Next Brit Thing) and the brilliantly positive pop sensation The Wondervillains, it was a truly inspirational day. All of the young people who took the plunge and performed their band pieces and own compositions did really well and the event was topped off by a fun performance given by the music teachers – performing together for the first time!
