There is no official sign-up to Musical Futures, and schools both within and outside England have been using the Musical Futures resource materials independently with success. The Paul Hamlyn Foundation funded a year- long pilot in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales which started in September 2011 This year Musical Futures is scaling up and rolling out across Northern Ireland to ensure that teachers feel supported with appropriate resources and national coordination.

Here’s what Music Teacher’s who have attended previous training sessions are saying:

Musical Futures (www.musicalfutures.org.uk ) is a new and exciting way of thinking about music making in schools. It is an approach to teaching and learning music that anybody working with young people can apply. Musical Futures creates a music entitlement for all young people aged 11-18, regardless of background, motivation and circumstance. It connects in- and out-of-school experiences, and makes music learning relevant by drawing on the passion, enthusiasm and motivation young people have for music.
